Is Roqua jewelry real gold?

Yes, we use 18ct solid gold on recycled sterling silver. Not to be confused with regular gold plating, our microns is always atleast 2.5 microns meaning it will last longer. You get the look & feel of gold jewelry at a fraction of the price.

What is gold vermeil?

Vermeil (pronounced vehr-may), is a high quality version of gold plating that uses sterling silver (aka 925 silver) as the base metal. By legal regulations, the gold must be at least 10ct (Roqua uses 18ct) with a thickness of 2.5 microns thick.

What is 18ct gold?

18ct gold is one of the less commonly used types of gold since it costs more than 14ct gold. It's composed of 75% gold and 25% alloy. The appearance of 18ct gold is slightly brighter than 14ct gold. When you think of gold, the 18ct  hue is probably what you imagine.

Are Roqua pearls real? 

We use cultured pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels that we carefully select for our pieces. Pearls are sensitive in nature, so don't forget to treat them with love.

Where does Roqua make jewellery?

We have a manufacturing facility in Jaipur, India.

Can you get gold vermeil wet?

No, we recommend using a soft cloth to gently rub your pieces as water may contain some chemicals that can wear off the gold. It doesn't tarnish in pure water but better safe than sorry

Does Roqua jewellery turn green?

No, since our plating is 18ct solid gold on sterling silver, it is hypoallergenic 

Can you get gold vermeil replated?

Yes, like all precious metals, the bonding can be replated, polished and cleaned which restores the pieces 

Is gold vermeil non tarnish?

While gold vermeil can tarnish due to its base metal being sterling silver, it will not tarnish much because of the very thick layer of 18ct solid gold plated over the base metal.
